FORM 4070 GUIDE
Form 4070 is paper from 1983. Your tips deserve better.
IRS Form 4070 is the monthly tip report tipped workers are supposed to give their employer. In practice, almost nobody fills it out, almost no employer enforces it, and the paper trail it creates is exactly as good as the handwriting on it.
What OTF does instead
Every shift you log generates a signed entry. At month-end, OTF produces a 4070-equivalent summary you can hand your employer (if they ask) and a full year-end statement your accountant can hand the IRS.
Why "signed at source" matters
The IRS standard for tipped income is a contemporaneous record. Logged at the time of the shift, with a verifiable timestamp, is the gold standard. Reconstruction in April is not.
